1)Tolerate uncertainty 2) Plan in 360 degrees but don't narrow options too soon (this requires a visit back to step #1) 3) Prepare to surprise yourself (allow some give in your view of who you are) 4) Make room (throw some things away if you have to).My boys are my greatest teacher in this regard. They are always requiring me to allow for uncertainty, to make adaptive plans, and remain full of awe.
